Clinique Skincare Routine

If you follow me on Instagram, you have heard me talk about Clinique, as it is one of my favorite brands for skincare. As someone who has very sensitive skin, I have to be very selective in the skincare products that I use.

That being said, there is an old saying that goes, “if ain’t broke, don’t fix it” …. Well that is how I feel about my skincare routine, which is why I have been using the same products since high school.

Now, I do not claim to be an expert on all things skincare, but I will tell you that everyone who I have recommended these products to has been just has happy with the results as myself.

Additionally, when it comes to everyday skincare, I am not someone who likes to spend 30+ minutes on a skincare routine. Of course there are days where I take more time and add in other things like masks or serums, but when it comes to day-to-day I like to keep it as quick and simple as possible. That is one of the other reasons I love Clinique, they have what is called “3-Step”, which is literally all it is… 3 steps!

Also, as you may know, the same products don’t work for everyone. Depending on your skin type (whether your skin is oily, dry, or a combination) you will need to use different products. For instance, my skin can get both very oily and also very dry (I am combination). If you are unsure of what your skin type is, I highly recommend you go to any store that carries Clinique (like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Ulta, etc.) and talk with someone there who can directly assess your skin type and help you determine which products are best for you! However, if you already know your skin type, Clinique’s website makes it very easy for you to find your 3-Step skin care routine — You can access the guide to 3-Step products HERE.

Now, without further ado, my skin care routine!

step 1 - cleanse

The first step in any good skincare routine is cleansing your face. For years I used to just use my hands and take a small pump of this liquid facial soap and rub it all over my face with warm water, which seemed to be effective and you could probably get away with. Now I have added something else into my skincare routine that you can read more about HERE. Anyways, thoroughly cleaning your face using this liquid facial soap is the first step.

step 2- exfoliate

Next I exfoliate using the clarifying lotion (level 3- which is for combination skin types). To apply this I use a cotton ball with a small amount all over my face. This helps get off any left over dirt, dulling flakes, and leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed.

step 3- Moisturize

The last step is to apply a very small amount of moisturizing gel to maintain optimal moisture balance. I would say if there is one product you should get (if you had to pick 1) this would be it! This is the best moisturizing gel I have ever used, and it lasts forever.
