franco’s bar

If you are looking for a bar with popular music, young people, and great views … This is your spot! Franco’s is part of Le Sirenuse, one of Positano’s nicest hotels! If you are not a hotel guest though, be prepared to wait in line to get into Franco’s (I promise the view is worth it).

Il Tridente

If you are looking for a more relaxed and laid back place to enjoy a drink and aperitivos (that also offers gorgeous scenic views), Il Tridente at the top of Hotel Poseidon is for you! I personally preferred this to Franco’s Bar, because I enjoyed the live authentic music, and the more laid back vibe.

bar at palazzo murat

While this is not up high in the cliffs overlooking the water, do not underestimate its beauty and tranquility. We chose to stop at here on the way back from dinner after Chez Black, since it was on the way back to our hotel for an after dinner drink, and it was a fantastic decision! I enjoyed my favorite Italian after dinner drink here (amaretto neat) alongside some delicious pastries that were brought out! If you are going to come here for a drink, I highly recommend coming after dinner (or when it is already dark and the courtyard is all lit up).

best dinner spots in positano

After a limoncello spritz or 2, you are going to want to start making your way to dinner (most likely around 8:00 or so — Italians eat much later than we do)! My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you have made reservations at all of these places in ADVANCE, especially if you are going during peak season (anytime between May-September).

ristorante max

One of the best meals we had on our trip was at Ristorante Max! It was literally a 2 minute walk from where we were staying in the heart of Positano! Ristorante Max has SO much to offer. In addition to being a restaurant, it is also an art gallery, wine bar, has a beautiful garden you can dine in, and they offer cooking classes!

Chez black

Chez Black is an absolute MUST! You can dine there for lunch as well, but I highly recommend making a reservation and going for dinner. It is located down on the beach and it is where many famous celebs and VIPS have enjoyed meals (including Denzel Washington who is friends with the owner). Everything from the atmosphere to the food was absolute perfection!

DA VINCENZO

Another great spot for dinner is Da Vincenzo, which is literally down the street from Il Tridente Bar. While they do their best to accommodate walk-ins, I strongly advise making a reservation in advance!
